AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE - Competition update

A number of ties in the 2018 Ayrshire Junior Golf League competitions have been completed recently.

In the UNDER 16 KNOCKOUT TROPHY, West Kilbride received a walkover from Ballochmyle in one of the first round ties whilst Irvine beat their hosts Ardeer by 3.5 - 0.5 in the other first round tie.

The draw for the quarter finals will be made at the next Ayrshire Junior Golf League meeting on 5th June.

In the CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS TROPHY competition, three of the five first round ties have been completed, with the remaining two due to be played by Sunday 3rd June.

Kieran Beauchamp (Turnberry) won by 3&2 at home to Euan McAllister (Irvine) whilst Adam Carballo (Prestwick St Cuthbert) received a walkover from Luisa Gibson (Ardeer) in their first round tie.

Sean Addie (Ayr Belleisle) won by 6&5 on his visit to play Christopher Hunter (Ballochmyle) in round one, to progress to the quarter finals.

The outstanding first round ties feature Cameron Johnston (Troon Welbeck) against Rob Yorkston (Loudoun) and Callum Murray (West Kilbride) against David Stark (Caprington).

The draw for the quarter finals will be made at the next Ayrshire Junior Golf League meeting on 5th June.

In the AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP competition no resuts have been posted in either of the qualifying sections so far.

Section A comprises Kilmarnock (Barassie), Prestwick St Cuthbert, irvine, Troon Welbeck and Ballochmyle whilst Section B involved West Kilbride, Caprington, Loudoun and Ayr Belleisle.

AYRSHIRE SCRATCH LEAGUES - Updates for all four divisions


Matches have been played in all four of the Ayrshire Scratch Leagues over the past week.

Fixtures will continue to be played throughout the summer to decide the sestination of the four League Championships as well as play off places for relegation and promotion.

In DIVISION 1, Irvine opened their title bid for 2018 with a 4 – 2 win away from home at Kilmarnock (Barassie), and followed their opening success with a 5 - 1 home win over near neighbours Irvine Ravenspark on Friday evening.

In DIVISION 2, Ayr Belleisle and Troon St Meddans lead the way following home wins in their recent fixtures. Troon St Meddans defeated West Kilbride 5 - 1 whilst Ayr Belleisle wre 4.5 – 1.5 winners against Troon Portland. 

Troon Portland maintained their hopes with a 3.5 – 2.5 home win over Ballochmyle whilst in the other match played recently West Kilbride and Ballochmyle shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw at West Kilbride.

In DIVISION 3, the only match result posted recently saw Prestwick St Nicholas join Largs at the top of the table following a 5 – 1 home win over Largs Routenburn.

In DIVISION 4, Kilbirnie Place opened their title bid with a 4 – 2 home win over the previously undefeated Brunston Castle team to move into second place in the table.
