AYRSHIRE LADIES COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP - Hendry on course to retain title.

Lesley Hendry (Largs Routenburn) remains on course to defend the Ayrshire Ladies County Golf Championship after coming through the first two rounds of matchplay at Largs on Wednesday 13th April.

The first round matches, played on Wednesday morning resulted as follows :-

CATHERINE MALCOLM (Prstwick St Nicholas) beat ROZ McCULLOCH (Girvan)
ALEX GLENNIE (Kilmarnock Barassie) lost to LESLEY HENDRY (Largs Routenburn)

MHARI McKAY (West Kilbride) beat PAULINE PATRICK (Irvine)

LIZ NEILL (Belleisle Ladies) lost to GILLIAN ARNOTT (Kilbirnie Place)

JANE FINNIE (Troon Ladies) beat SANDIE STREETS (Largs)

RACHAEL IRVINE (Largs) lost to AUDREY THOMSON (Loudoun)

ROZ PURDOM (Prestwick St Nicholas) lost to RACHAEL McQUEEN (Troon Ladies)

LESLEY BARKER (Kilmarnock Barassie) lost to JENNY LINKLATER (Largs)

In the afternoon quarter finals, Hendry edged out leading qualifier Ccatherine Malcolm (Prestwick St Nicholas) at the 17th to book a semi final place against Gilliam Arnott (Kilbirnie Place), who beat Mhari McKay (West Kilbride) in the quarter finals.

The other semi final is between Audrey Thomson (Loudoun) and Rachael McQueen (Troon ladies) who beat Jane Finnie (Troon ladies) and Jenny Linklater (Largs) respectively in the quarter finals.

The semi final matches will be played on Thursday morning with the final being scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
